What is thomas organs?

Thomas Organ Company was founded in 1921 by John M. Thomas in Los Angeles, United States. The company specialized in producing pipe organs and quickly became one of the largest organ manufacturers in the world. In the late 1950s, the company began to focus on producing electronic organs, which were smaller and more affordable than pipe organs.

Thomas organs became popular in the 1960s and 1970s in the United States, particularly in the burgeoning rock and roll and psychedelic music scenes. Prominent musicians such as John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin and Ray Manzarek of The Doors played Thomas organs.

In the 1980s, the company experienced financial difficulties and was sold to Allen Organ Company in 1993. Thomas organs continue to be produced under the Allen brand but are no longer marketed separately. Thomas organs are still revered for their warm, vintage sound and are sought after by musicians and collectors.
